Flights from Romania cities to Budapest

The capital of Hungary, Budapest, is located on both banks of the Danube River, consisting of two districts: Buda, on the western side of the Danube, and Pest, on the eastern side. Budapest was officially formed in 1873 through the unification of the cities of Buda, Pest, and Obuda, made possible by the construction of numerous bridges over the Danube. Since the Middle Ages, Buda has been the site of royal coronations and the royal seat. After World War II, all bridges over the Danube in Budapest were destroyed.

Today, Budapest is a modern European city that harmoniously blends history with modernity. Renowned tourist attractions include the Buda District, part of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritage, the Budapest Opera House, and the Chain Bridge, which connects the two sides of the city. From this bridge, visitors can admire the towers of the castle on Buda Hill as well as the Parliament Building. The Parliament, built in neo-Gothic style, is the third largest parliamentary building in the world.

Budapest’s cultural life is vibrant, filled with annual festivals and events. On August 31st, the Budapest Summer Festival takes place outdoors on Margaret Island, featuring classical music, opera, jazz, and dance performances. On the same day, the Red Bull Air Race is held, showcasing top pilots from around the world and drawing over one million spectators. Flying under the Chain Bridge is the race's most challenging obstacle.

Additionally, the New Year's Eve Gala and Ball at the Budapest Opera on December 31st includes performances by the State Opera Orchestra, ballet shows, and solo concerts in one of the most elegant interiors in Europe. You can visit Budapest by flying with airlines such as TAROM, Wizz Air, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, LOT, Czech Airlines, and Bulgaria Air.
